This year I hosted my first Thanksgiving dinner. It was a lot more work than I anticipated! Everything turned out wonderful, but I don't think I can eat turkey again for quite some time.
Well, it is now approaching the middle of December. The days are short and dark. I miss the sun. I miss my family and friends that live far away. In less than 2 weeks I'll be in North Carolina getting ready to celebrate Christmas with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Then I will spend a week over New Years with friends in Portland. I CAN'T WAIT!
So I spent 3 years living in a cabin in the woods, now I'm living in the bush on a remote island in Alaska. Sometimes I think I have a tendency to gravitate towards places that come with many challenges, other times I see myself adapting to places that leave me no choice but to accept the limits and embrace the experience. If life was too easy, there would be no adventure.
